We officially started class on Monday and Brittany and I placed high enough to get into the classes we wanted. At first our schedule was from 8:35-9:50 AM and then 2:20-4 PM, but we switched into a different literature class so now we end at 2 PM because we already read two of the main books for the one at 2:20 PM. Yay lunch at home! And not ending at 4. In between our huge break on Monday though because none of the 8:35 classes were meeting that day so we had from our meeting at 9 until 2:20 to chill, we went to the park next to the fine arts museum to take a nap and eat lunch. All of the professors seem great, and our host mom was trying to think of some of them yesterday and she was saying how one of the professors is muy guapo, which definitely was our 20th century literature one but we ended up switching. I like my other two though so all is good. We went home and I talked to Mar for a little bit and then the director of the program invited us all out to this nearby town to celebrate the fourth of July at this bar. There was an American flag and karaoke, oh being obnoxious Americans...well that's our day to do it, right? It was fun though, there were so many people there and a group of us went to get dinner at "Manu's Burgers", Manu makes a pretty mean burger, I had something called "Completa" which was basically a cheeseburger with an egg, delicious. I might do this back in the States.
The next day was the first day we had all of our classes we want to take and our Latin American Lit professor told us one of our assignments we would have to take a video camera and ask random people questions...that'll be interesting. Brittany and I scarfed down our sandwiches after our first class around 10 AM and walked aimlessly about before going to class. When we got home nobody was there except the person cleaning the house so we waited until she was done, ate a bunch of cookies and took a long nap. We had to meet up with Andrea at the Areeta stop (the same stop where we celebrated Independence Day whoo whoo) to see the Hanging Bridge or the Bridge of Vizcaya. It's just this really tall bridge that you can walk across to get to the other side of the river to the other town and below it is part of the bridge where you can take this platform across or ride across in your car or motorcycle. It was extremely tall for a bridge but once you got up there it wasn't bad at all because you are so enclosed. Except when I'm paranoid and feel the wood moving or when the platform goes by underneath and it vibrates. We had another guy take a picture of our group and he almost seemed to be pretending to be a professional photographer, being that he took two pictures where he scuttled from side to side.
When we went home we had a fantastic dinner, probably more fantastic based on the fact we hadn't eaten for a long time. We had tuna with vegetables, an egg, salad with tomatoes and of course, fruit. Apparently I don't talk a lot but I guess I just don't know what to say, well today's another day. Class in an hour...later gators!
